Mollie's career as an artist began at the tender age of 8, in 1981 at the Spring Arts Festival in Gainesville, Florida, when she sold her first painting. As the crisp ten dollar bill was pressed into her hand in exchange for a watercolor painting of the Garden of Eden, she knew at that very moment she wanted to make her way as an artist. Since then, it's just been history in the making. Under the tutelage of her step-mother, accomplished illustrator/artist, Sharon McGinley-Nally, Mollie spent much of her young life learning to paint. Attending the Barnestone Academy of Art in PA, she advanced her skills in classical drawing, oil painting, mixing color and paint making. In 1995, Morning Star Artworks started as a business painting furniture and murals. Faux Finishes were added to the services offered after being mentored by European Master Craftsman, Brian Bullard, of the Decorative Arts Center in St. Louis, MO.

Her work has been featured in numerous national and regional publications such as, "Paint and Wall Covering Contractor", "Paint Pro", "The Artistic Stenciler", and "The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel". With over ten years in the business, Mollie has amassed an impressive portfolio featuring work in exclusive homes and businesses across America and the Bahamas. She currently resides in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, just North of Milwaukee.

It is a priority to Mollie to study important works of historical art and architecture abroad that often serve as inspiration for new murals. In 1999 she was commissioned by Universal Studios to paint 15 murals following the theme of the ancient Greek murals of Crete and Santorini. She spent four weeks in Greece studying the murals in person, and visiting the historic sites. Making these trips abroad also enables Mollie to bring home reference materials and supplies that would be otherwise impossible to obtain. All of these factors play a role in her vision of promoting a world with more cultural understanding by celebrating the visual arts. With a relentless drive for excellence and passion for creativity, Mollie offers her clients high quality, unique designs that will last for generations.

*a note from the artist*

If you are still reading this you might be interested in a little family history.  I grew up in a very "interesting" situation.  My parents divorced when I was very young.  My first recollections of my father are from when I was about 7 years old.  He was remarried to a lovely person (and wonderful artist!), Sharon McGinley-Nally, and I moved to Florida to live with them for a short time. Will Nally was a folk artist, painter, and sculptor of found objects; Sharon, a fine artist also working in book illustration.  Later, I found out my father also has a son from a previous marriage, whom I just met for the first time in 2006.  David "Big Dutch" Nally, is a prolific outsider artist living in Reading, PA.  My father's sister, Elizabeth Irwin, also an artist, exhibits her meticulous and beautiful icons at the Goggleworks in Reading, PA.   I am beyond thrilled to have finally met David and so happy to get the gift of a brother in mid-life. He's really fantastic! Here's one of his pieces.  You can check out The Goggleworks Center for the Arts, and see some of Sharon's books by clicking here.

"My wish is to broaden the views of people everywhere by creating works of art that can transport the viewer, if only for a few moments, to a place beyond their back door."
