In this depiction of the Commedia, Isabella gets chastised by her father, Pantalone, for sneaking round with Il Capitano.

This is the center part of the scene. The whole mural is 30 feet wide. The mural is located in between the first and second floors, on the monumental staircase.

Harlequin plays music to entertain the audience. The backdrop is the Grand Canal overlooking San Maggiore in Venice. This is the left side of the mural.

Puchinella is entertaining the crowds, as a peacock proudly shows his feathers. This is the right side of the mural.

"Monkey See, Monkey Do". This little guy is the new library mascot.

The tragedy mask appears to be carved into the stone pillar leading up the stairs.

The comedy mask is on the opposite side.

Look at all the detail in the stone balusters!

Isabella's lacy dress took at least a week to paint!

This mural was created during a 20 day "Artist in Residence" program. It is over 40 feet long! It features snippets of work from several famous paintings.

This is part of the huge magnolia tree that was painted into the mural. The children are making three dimensional, clay flowers to attach to the branches.

Out of this "window" you can see part of a Seurat painting. The original is located in Chicago, (a short drive away) hopefully a seed is planted in the students to go see it!

This section of the mural shows Van Gogh's irises, and Monet's famous water lilies and bridge. The students suggested lots of small details, a frog, dragonflies, butterflies, sailboats, all of which were incorporated into the mural.

Here's a California Sister. I like to make butterflies look as if they are flying in front of the mural in the room.

This section is Van Gogh's "Wheatfield with Crows" and Georgia O'Keefe's Sunflowers. She was born in Wisconsin.

This window looks out to Picasso's, "Cock of Liberation" which is housed in the Milwaukee Art Museum. Most of the students will have the chance to see the original painting during a school field trip.

Ancient Greek murals adorn the walls in this show. The murals "breakaway" into the lost underwater world where the plants and animals morph into sea creatures.
